Memories of a Future - Luke Cyr (43 Handicap)
he blessings of life held to a heart
Beginnings my future but only a start
Praised and cherished dreams coming true
Followed instincts with all that we do
Lives are built on the back of a cause
Don’t miss the memories held to a pause
Life in full circle as time does reset
Success in our lifetime the safest of bet
Please bear with me, faults trump success
Begged forgiveness, misjudgment a mess
The heart motivates decision and fail
Never give up this ship will not sail
Better and better, polished in time
I’ll never give up cause you as mine
This is a poem I wrote when I was in Scotland. I was fantasizing about a future for the first time in 10 or more years. I was thinking of where or what I'll be doing when I'm old.
I thought, when is this going to end, and how quickly will this blow up my face? Used to finding whatever doom and gloom I could find, I attached myself to it, filling my head with only chaos and carnage, helping develop a hate for society and human life.
Once I started to embrace the greatness of life and all the good people in it, it became normal again. I found myself searching out happier things, staying out of the gutters of society and living in the positive.
Existence has both negative and positive in it. It's what we find ourselves gravitating towards that makes us who we are and how we will deal with hardships that life has to offer.
