Focused Future - Luke Cyr (43 Handicap)
Left in the winds of fates cruel delight
Focus and hardship, challenged is might
Stand and accept mistakes of the past
Honesty and love, will prevent you your last
Change what they want, stand to the tasks
Remove all the lies and toss away masks
You are you and sometimes that’s great
Listen to words, for Heaven and sake
Praying to God and save us from sin
Accept the critique, taken on chin
Your lucky in life on hopes final chance
Let’s do all we can, no squandered romance
Days filled with hope will set up for you
Happiness in death, a lifetime that’s true
Take but a moment reflect on our life
Happiness and joy, will remove any strife
This is a poem I wrote when I was back home after the caddy season. I was struggling a bit, not being able to caddy, and being all alone back in Petawawa, Ontario. I used the wording here to strengthen my thinking, to light a fire under me, so I didn't fall back into bad habits. I concentrated on the positives. I made sure I connected with people, even if I felt I was being annoying or a bother. The power of writing is so magical, it allows you to escape from whatever place you're stuck in. The fight will never stop and it's going to be hard, but, as I sit here today, I know one amazing truth, I made it I won this round. Never give up and never give in.
