The Reason (Shadows)

The Reason - Luke Cyr (43 Handicap)

The silliness of fate the author of tale
Ushering in success or ultimate fail
Wish for a want, comes half of the time
Dreams coming true a fetish of mine
Why can’t we get, all that we want
Anticipated pleasure addicting in taunt
The Universe is cruel in tempting of thought
The page that we’re read reasoned for not
Disappointed decisions, not in the plan
Take that is given the best that you can
Dwelling on the present forgetting the trail
Given up reason as if ship has set sail
Tomorrow might bring answers to light
The visions of morrow, absent from site
Accept the decisions sent from above
Embrace the given with passion and love

Discussion

This is a poem I wrote when I was a week into treatment.
Nothing worse for someone without patience, I wanted to feel better and I wanted it now. You have to realize it takes time, it takes help and it takes a will to succeed.
I was tired of not wanting to live, I was tired of hurting.
So, I wrote in a mood, so I was frustrated.
Thankfully I stayed the course and I trusted the process.
The words here I used are plagued with duality. It was me battling with myself, on which path I should take. I trusted the process though and was ultimately successful.
