Inadequate Line (Shadows)

Inadequate Line - Luke Cyr (43 Handicap)

Penalty of being wrong, rests with the mind
Lost in settled happiness, unable to find
Moments of decision pondered in thought
Convinced of ability, confidently sought
Matters of job, professional and kind
Failed on advice punctures the mind
Leaned on for help, direction and cause
Sadness and remorse, silence in pause
Letting someone down, tears at the soul
Passion for perfection, breaking the mold
Hesitation of instinct in reads that I say
Hand to back, smile as they may
Thank you young caddie, for all the do
My day has been perfect, all thanks to you

This is a poem I wrote while at Cabot. I had just got there and I made an awful read on a putt. But I'm so thankful for the other caddy who tapped me on the shoulder and whispered in my ear, "I've been here seven years bud and I still get messed up."

That's why in all my videos you can see the name Cabot on my chest. Thank you to Ben, Ted, Jake and Mike and all the rest for allowing me to make Cabot my family. They welcomed me with open arms and have supported me with my mission of doing whatever I can to help those suffering from mental health.

Each day before I left for the course I would read this poem, to remind me, mistakes can happen. But remember, you have a loving family who supports you. I use this poem to remind me that no matter the small bump in the road you hit, there's still miles and miles of clean driving and love and respect at the end.
