Passion to Age - Luke Cyr (43 Handicap)
The time has come to wait or to run
Each days presents with rise of the sun
The fear to age has cripple the mind
Savor the moments and all you will find
Imagine the moments that tick with the time
Childhood mistakes and more you can find
Teenage years where knowing is all
Thankful for parents on eventual fall
Lessons learned, ahead and we suffer
Please dear Lord send me a buffer
Parenthood my turn to send out a warning
Children’s rolled eyes how can I seem boring
Rinse and repeat as parents so grand.
I guess I’ll intervene and lend a kind hand
How could I possibly wish this to pause
My life was a journey, my effect was a cause
Enjoy your life, as it’s handed to you
Embrace all the moments and all that you do
This is a poem I wrote this fall. I was talking to someone who didn't want to grow old. I said, "But growing old is the whole story. You don't just read the back of a book cover and accept that is all." Our story is interesting and we should embrace every part of it. Life is a journey and we have to live every step in it. Things come to an end and we have to embrace that logic. When we do it, this will make the importance of our existence that much more enjoyable. Find that inner peace and soak it in. Fighting against the inevitable only brings sadness. If you accept it, life will be much more enjoyable and a lot less stressful.
